My vision is to transcend geographical boundaries and develop into a global institution reaching students across the globe, sharing the beauty and grace of Indian classical dance with a vast, diverse audience.
My mission is to revolutionize the way we experience this ancient art form, blending tradition with cutting-edge technology thus opening up new possibilities for artistic expression, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in classical dance.
Praveena embarked on her journey into the enchanting realm of Bharatanatyam at the tender age of 4, under the tutelage of the renowned Kalamadalam Sumathi and Ravikumar. Today, in her 40s, she continues to live and breathe this ancient art form, constantly seeking to deepen her understanding and perfect her skills.
Driven by a relentless passion for dance, Praveena has sought guidance from prominent gurus such as Ravikumar Natyalaya and Geetha, honing her expertise in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi. Her dedication and talent were recognized by Prasarbharathy, earning her the prestigious title of a B Grade Artist in Doordarshan, a true testament to her mastery of Bharatanatyam.
Over her illustrious career spanning 36 years, Praveena has touched the lives of over 1000 students, guiding them on their own journeys of dance meditation.
The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.

Here are answers to some questions we are frequently asked online
Dancing has the potential to open doors for you in various aspects of life. It can have positive impacts socially, emotionally, professionally, and physically. If you make a commitment to dance and stick with it in the long run, it can truly be a life-changing experience.
We begin by teaching basic dances to beginners. We introduce you slowly so that you can become familiar with the foundation dances. Once you feel comfortable with those, we move on to teaching more advanced specialty dances.
How often you take dance lessons will determine how much you need to budget for them. Like any other activity, dance lessons require spending money, but they are generally more affordable compared to other hobbies these days.
At Sai Veena School, we welcome students of all ages. Our current students range from 5 years old to 67 years old. The decision to join us is entirely up to the individual student, and there are no age limits. We believe that everyone can enjoy and benefit from dance, regardless of their age.
Though we try to accommodate your age requests, we feel that having each child in the ability appropriate class is our paramount consideration. We always want your child to be in the level where he or she will have the best learning experience.
Class sizes vary from 5 to 30 students, with lower level studio practice courses tending to have the biggest population. Academic courses range from 5 to 15 students and performance classes from 5 to 25 students.
